Pavla Šimková is a historian at the Rachel Carson Center for Environment and Society at LMU Munich. Her research focuses on the environmental history of East Central Europe and the United States. She studied American Cultural History, History of Eastern and Southeastern Europe, English Literature, and Political Science in Brno and Munich, where she received her PhD in 2019 for a thesis on the environmental history of the Boston Harbor Islands. Since 2020, she has been a collaborator on a research project on the cross-border environmental history of the Bavarian Forest and Šumava National Parks.
