Martin Borkowski-Saruhan has been a research associate in the Presidium of the German Historical Museum for the future Second World War Documentation Center since 2021. He studied history, Jewish studies and religious studies at the Universities of Potsdam and Paris. He then researched and taught at the Chair of Modern History of Eastern Europe at the University of Göttingen and is working on a dissertation project on sport, everyday life and violence in German-occupied Poland. He specializes in the history and post-history of the German occupation of Europe, European-Jewish history, the history of Poland and the history of sport.
