Andrea Gawrich has been Professor of Political Science with a focus on the international integration of Eastern Europe at Justus Liebig University Giessen since 2012. She is Vice-Director of the Eastern European Research Center "Giessen Center for Eastern Europe" and a board member of the German Political Science Association (DGfP). She currently heads the EU project https://shapedem-eu.eu on EU democracy promotion, a DFG project on security organizations in Eastern Europe and a project funded by the German-Polish Science Foundation on the politicization of the EU-Eastern Partnership. Her publications include contributions on EU Neighborhood Policy, OSCE, NATO, the Council of Europe, International Democracy Promotion & Security Policy, Foreign Policy and International Conflict Management.
